Matt Harriden from Beau Corp’s ‘Business Development’ Story

Hi Kurt, I just wanted to express in a few words about our time with Builders Coach over the past 12 months.

Firstly; thank-you for all you help & input it has been invaluable to me & my company.

In one of the first sessions the words “let the truth set you free” came from your mouth. This has been something of a little mantra for me………. I love it!

Like many builders out there, no one knows exactly where things are at! When you do find that place, it’s like ‘Holy Shit’; time to do something about it and re-gain control.
You have had a very positive impact on my work & the way I go about my business. I fear not ‘Expansion’. “There is no finish line”. Sound a bit like Shakespeare???

The potential that exists within us is limitless & I believe is largely untapped; I am a perfect example of this! Twelve months ago when this journey started with you; I would have never imagined I would be running my business the way I am today.

I had a strategy; work hard. I hoped that would get me where I wanted to go. But working hard doesn’t guarantee success. And hope isn’t a strategy! I also assumed that I would automatically get there!!!!!!!!
This is a trap that we all fall into.

We are all anxious to improve our circumstances but are unwilling to improve ourselves along the way; therefore we always remain bound. Thanks for shedding the light. This stuff would have been great to know 20 years ago!

You have shown me to get into the nitty gritty of the business and have a sense of direction. How to grow in consistency. How to grow and work your strengths, look into your weakness and step forward with opportunities. To be able to gauge not only where you’ve been, but also where we are now and set a course for where we want be.

The first step towards change is awareness. The second step is acceptance.

Strategies and systems are now a way of life for Beau Corp and I. Systems permit ordinary people to achieve extraordinary results predictably. Forecasting is an integral part of any business. What is a system? A system for me is a process for predictably achieving a goal based on a specific, orderly, repeatable principle & practices. Systems leverage your time, money, and abilities. Systems are deliberate, intentional, and practical. They really work – regardless of your position, talent level, or experience. They improve performance.
For me, I have categorised effective systems into 6 areas.

1) Effective systems taking the big picture into account.
2) Make use of priorities
3) Measurement
4) Application
5) Organisation
6) Consistency

I am now ‘Focusing on Building a Legacy’ for Beau Corp. I am really grateful for your time & what you have shown me. I will reflect on all your teachings & your teachable spirit. You have been a great mentor and hopefully one that I can call upon in the future when required.

You have shown me purpose & creativity; I am committed to my success and the success of my company.

Truly; thank-you for your time as the Builders Coach & for “letting the truth set me free”! I have really enjoyed the time and my investment in your company & believe I am now ready to handle the battle………………..

Kind regards,

The Beau Corp Team

CLIENT BANKING EXAMPLE

Our client (Commercial builder) receives a phone call in Jan ’13 from a prospect who wants an estimate on a property they ‘haven’t’ purchased yet. Our builder spends 15 minutes on the phone puts them on his automated newsletter list.

Last week (after receiving a monthly newsletter for 12 mths) the prospective client calls back ‘Hot to Trot’. He asks our builder for an invoice for the preliminary agreement and tells him his budget is $1 Mill but can stretch to $1.2 Mill. The client understands the builders process and is educated on the benefits of working with him, plus he is prepared to negotiate on the job. All for the price of a well directed and automated newsletter! – Do this and do it well or watch your competitors pass you by!

Thank you for the kind words and feedback Brett and Kirsten Williams, Eco-Logical Building Pty Ltd, Perth This is what we like to hear from our clients!

“Kurt has been an invaluable asset to our business. He has assisted us in moving to a new level of professionalism by helping us define our ‘Unique Selling Proposition’ and better differentiate ourselves from our competitors. We now have a structured ‘Sales Process’ and affective Marketing Material. We also have a Client Relationship Management system and our ‘ client banking’ database is growing by the day. We have clear goals and plan and prioritise each working day in order to use our time most effectively. Kurt has supplied us with excellent, builder specific reference material and advice and is always available when needed. The regular on-line sessions are an efficient way to stay in touch, even from the other side of Australia! We will continue to use the skills that Kurt has taught us and look forward to his ongoing support as our company grows and develops.”

Justin Eldershaw

Thank you for an awesome 2 days. I learned plenty and gained some amazing new insights. In particular, the new focus (thanks to you) on eliminating or at least reducing inefficiencies is something I’d previously only given “lip service” to but through you getting us to have a closer look at this area…man, that will add tens of thousands of dollars to my bottom line! Thank Richard too – he provided some good insights (and the Subway, of course!). All in all, the two days were worth far far more than the investment, and I can’t thank you enough. Finally, you’re welcome to use these comments as a testimonial if you wish.

All the best,
Justin Eldershaw – Reliance Roof Restorations
